The collection documents the education and career of Fred C. Kennedy. It is a summary record of the life of a Nazarene student who became a Presbyterian pastor and a Junior High teacher and the personal and cultural struggles he faced along the way. The collection includes syllabi, notes and papers from studies at Pasadena Nazarene College, San Francisco Theological Seminary and Austen Theological Presbyterian Seminary, of interest for research in the history of these schools, their denominations and their faculty members. Also included are 2 draft copies and 2 bound copies, of a book of his sermons prepared for his first congregation, Woodforest Presbyterian Church, Houston, Texas, entitled “Knowledge of God and of Ourselves.” It also includes study materials in Church Development and Christian Education, both youth and adult, and many Presbyterian pamphlets and aides to ministers.
